This is my last blog post, as the semester ends on the 9th. I am very sad that I am leaving. This week I focused on doing my internship presentation to present to the class. I am truly sad to have to be leaving. Olga has been one of the greatest mentors ever. She went out of her way to allow me to meet Otto from the tv show, she gave us opportunities to drive her boat, she encouraged us to be creative with the catalog. Her presentation that she gave in class on humpbacks inspired me to create a presentation on play in marine mammals (see below). She has opened my eyes to research and field work and how amazing and fun going out on the boat is. I have a greater appreciation for humpbacks than I did previously. I hope that I can continue helping her next semester because I think her work is important and that I can really make the catalog better. Once Ginger and Debbie find a new database for the catalog, I really think that I can improve the catalog by adding more pictures and new whales that continue to be sighted, as well as create an interactive map and work with Happywhale further. Olga is an inspiration to me, and I am so glad that I got to work with her.

The presentation and evaluation went good and I'm so glad we got to present to Olga. I am super excited to work more with her next semester, as I had such a good time with her this semester. In addition, Jill Burnham, the Evening Program Coordinator at the Kachemak Bay Campus, wrote an internship article about all the students in Semester by the Bay.
